We will be starting the term with a unit based on Learning to Learn. Children will look at ways to improve their ways of learning and they also set goals for themselves. We are also participating in two programmes with Police Education Officer - Constable Brown. “Stepping Out” is a programme that educates children in appropriate road safety skills. The aim of “Stepping Out” is to encourage and assist children in a safe way as pedestrians or passengers in a traffic environment. A form will come home next week with more information and a permission slip. The second programme is “Keeping Ourselves Safe.” There will be an information evening for parents about this programme on the 18 February.
Important Dates:
KOS Evening – February 18
National Standards Information Evening – March 4
Parent Teacher Conferences- March 11 - School will close at 12.30.
Just a few points:-
School begins at 9 o’clock. Children need to be here prior to this time so they are ready to go with their class to fitness.
We have several children who have severe allergies. Could you please reinforce with your children that they must not share food. It would also be helpful, if possible, to avoid including nuts in lunches.
Parent Help: This is very much appreciated. If you are interested, ask your child’s teacher. Please ask for a Guidelines booklet.
Each child will need a book bag and a library bag so they are able to bring books home. Reading books should come home Monday – Thursday.
Hats – Children must wear hats outside. Please ensure that it is named, as a named item is very easy to return to the owner!
Swimming: Children will be swimming this term. Please have named swimming gear in a plastic bag.
