Homework
Each week you will need to learn 15 spelling words. 10 words will be given to you and the other 5 you will choose yourself from either the previous week's incorrectly spelled words, words from your writing book or words from the dictionary. You will also be given a basic facts practice sheet which you will  be tested on.  You should be reading a book of your own choice for at least 30 minutes per day.


Music
Music class is every Tuesday afternoon with Mrs Harvey in the Music
Room.

Swimming
We swim in term 1 and term 4 on Monday's, Wednesday's, Thursday's and alternate Friday's. Please be prepared and bring your swimming gear every day just in case we are lucky enough to get an extra swimming block!
People can also swim during lunch times in term 1 and 4.

Library
Our library day is Thursday after morning tea.

Poem of the Week
On Friday you will take your poetry book home with a new poem to share with your family.  Please remember to bring your book back to school before the following Friday.

Maths
So that the teachers can better meet our needs, we cross group with the other Year  5 class, Room 4, for maths. This happens Monday - Thursday after morning tea.  The teachers have registered your child with 'smartkiddies,' and online maths support website. Please see the Room 1 website page for more details.
