General Information

Absences

If your child is going to be absent please contact the school office before 9.00. This is an important safety check. There are several options to report an absence. Ring 09 445 6605, Website- Contact us tab – report an absence or use the school app.

Assemblies

Parents are invited to attend our Formal Assemblies. These are held fortnightly. Our assemblies recognise achievement, promote our values and allow children to perform.

Dental Nurse

The dental therapist treats all children and pre-schoolers from 2 ½ years. Treatment is given when necessary and with prior consent. We share our Dental Therapist with neighbouring schools. The telephone number is 09 445 6664. The dental clinic is based at Belmont Intermediate School and the school also receives regular visits from the Mobile Clinic where all children’s teeth are assessed on site and if any further dental treatment is required an appointment at BIS is required.

Library

All classes have timetabled sessions for the Library. The Library is open during lunchtimes. All library books need to travel to and from school in a library bag. These are available from the school office.

Lunches

Children should bring morning tea and lunch to school every day.  Sushi can be ordered on Wednesday morning to be delivered on Thursday. We order from Ezlunch on Fridays only. See info below.

ezlunch (easy-lunch) take your school lunch orders through their website until 9am on Friday only and deliver it to our school at lunchtime. There’s a full range of freshly made hot and cold meals, snacks and drinks, made by local fresh food caterers Five Loaves Devonport and Pita Pit Takapuna. Their food is great! 

The menu is here. To order, go to www.ezlunch.co.nz, create an account and click on the items you want. It’s very fast and simple to use. You can top up your account by credit/debit card (min $20) or bank transfer and use it up throughout the year.

Music lessons

These are provided by specialist music teachers from the Music Education Centre – Phone 0800 89 39 39. For further details http://www.musiceducation.co.nz

Parking

We have two entrances to Belmont Primary – a pedestrian entrance at the  Rose Centre and a pedestrian/vehicular entrance at Harrison Avenue. To ensure safety please:

  • Drive slowly and with care.
  • Do not call children across the road.
  • Make sure children enter and exit vehicles from the curb side.
  • Do not use the school driveway between 8.30 and 9.00 and 2.45 and 3.15. 

School Hours

We encourage children not to come to school before 8.30 unless they have a practice or commitment. Children need to prepare for their school day and we suggest they be here by 8.50.This enables children to use the Road Patrols at the Lake Road traffic lights.  The children will be dismissed at 3.00 pm. and we ring a clearing bell at 3.15 pm.

School Newsletter

This important link between home and school is posted on our website fortnightly (even-numbered weeks of each term) on Thursdays. An email link will be sent home.

Stationery

This can be purchased from the school office before 9 o’clock each day.

Sunhats

All children must wear a school sun hat when outside during Term 1 and 4.

Uniforms

All children are required to wear our uniform. All uniforms are purchased through our online shop tab. There are samples available at the school office to check for sizes. We also have compulsory PE uniform for Y3-6 children.
